Nine Quick News Nuggets ... Some Good...Some Bad.

The following is written for those of you who have no time to watch the news. Here are some news nuggets:

SOME GOOD NEWS:

We asked you to spread the word about Proposition 10 in Texas, which was just five words, "Texas should prohibit Sharia Law." Frank Gaffney reported that it passed by 95%! Great news. Way to go, Texas. Although it was only on the GOP primary ballot, and although it is technically a “non-binding” proposition, this sets the stage to block Sharia law from engulfing the State of Texas, and hopefully the nation. RINO Texas Senator John Cornyn will face a runoff with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Cornyn spent a whopping $70 million to get 42% of the vote. Paxton spent less than $4 million to get 41% of the vote. They face each other in a runoff May 26. Go Paxton!

In a stunning development, Texas State Representative Steve Toth defeated incumbent U.S. Congressman Dan Crenshaw. Crenshaw started his service in DC well, but continually wandered away from some of the most basic GOP values. Steve Toth is a friend of mine. I met him through his pastor – the courageous Steve Riggle – at the remarkable Grace Church in The Woodlands, Texas. Steve will make a remarkable addition to the House of Representatives, assuming he can pull off a victory in the general election in November.

For decades, we have asked military leaders in the U.S., and especially those in Israel, “When will there ever be a time to stop Iran, before it is too late!” Praise God for Donald J. Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu for having the courage to “go for it.” If we would have had leaders like this before Hitler caused 10s of millions of deaths in WW2, so many would not have died. History is going to view Trump’s decision as one of the greatest moments in world history.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune

Senate Majority Leader John Thune is proving, at least on one critical issue, to be anything but a leader. He is under tremendous pressure – rightfully so – to use the talking filibuster to pass the SAVE America Act, so that we could have fair and honest elections once again. (To understand this, watch this: WPN Call 531) Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard number – (202) 224-3121 – and ask for the offices of the two Senators from your state, and ask for them to pass the SAVE America Act now. Call the same number and ask for Majority Leader John Thune's office and nicely but firmly ask that he do what is right and use the talking filibuster and get the Act passed.

AND SOME HARD-TO-REPORT NEWS ON SOME PREACHERS:

Beware of Talarico. Let me explain. As you know, U.S. Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (45%) ran for the Texas Senate seat, but was defeated by Texas State Representative James Talarico (53%) in the Democratic primary. Crockett distinguished herself by saying ridiculous things. Talarico is a smooth talking, heretical (so-called) “preacher.” He claims God is “nonbinary.” Now if he would have said that God is neither male or female, he would have been correct. (For an explanation, see The Sacredness of Marriage) But instead, he chose to use bizarre language associated with the transgender movement. Ignorant of Scripture, he further claims the Bible supports abortion. That is only the beginning of his lack of biblical understanding. It gets worse. Watch out for him in the general election in November. He is slick. He is the proverbial “snake in the grass,” theologically and politically speaking.

Pastor Adam Hamilton

Adam Hamilton, a pastor of the huge Resurrection Church in the Kansas City area with 22,000 members across nine campuses, has announced he might run for the U.S. Senate as an independent from Kansas. Don’t be fooled. He is a leader in the far leftists United Methodist Church. The “United” Methodist Church has not been very “united". It just split in two: UMC [leftists] and Global Methodist Church [biblical, orthodox]. It is not very “Methodist” [I did my doctoral dissertation on John Wesley and the original British Methodist; Wesley would not recognize modern day UMC-ers]. I would contend it is not, due to anti-biblical, pro-homosexual, pro-transgender, pro-abortion positions, even a “church.” Don’t be conned by the likeable and silver tongued Adam Hamilton. Though postering himself as a “bridge builder,” he is radically left on almost every position. Beware. I get no joy out of warning you about people like him. Candidly, it saddens me.

HE IS ALMOST GONE! GOOD!

Senator Thom Tillis

Thank goodness he is on the way out. North Carolina has chosen persons to run in the general election for GOP Senator Thom Tillis’ soon-to-be open position, as he is leaving Congress, but not a minute too early. When the “Respect for Marriage Act” passed the Senate, it was largely due to NC Senator Tillis. You see, “Respect for Marriage” should have been labeled the “Destruction of Marriage” Act. The bill supported same sex (so called) “marriage.” Every Democrat and 12 GOP Senators, many impacted by Tillis, voted to destroy marriage. In the House, every Democrat and 37 GOP Members of the House voted to violate Scripture, not to mention the then GOP Platform. (See the then platforms compared: Party Platform Comparisons). On December 13, 2022, Biden (the occupant of the White House at the time) signed this destruction of sacred marriage into law, the first time in the history of America when all three branches of government supported that for which God destroyed Sodom.

Speaking to the Freedom Caucus

On February 2, 2026, I had the privilege of speaking to the Freedom Caucus, a group of biblically grounded Members of Congress. What a joy it was to be with persons who are centered on truth. Be encouraged. There are some godly Congressmen and Congresswoman. We praise God for them. And there are hundreds of godly and patriotic state senators and state representatives all across the 50 state legislatures. Be encouraged. Truth and righteousness, given enough time, have a way of rising to the top.
